A major road has been closed due to a crash and ongoing repair works.

Debris from the accident was left scattered across the A249 southbound at the B2006 Bobbing roundabout near Sittingbourne.

The section has been closed since about 7am and remains shut.

A diversion is guiding traffic off the main highway via the exit slip road and back on via the entry slip road.

The road reopened at about 11.25am.

Police have been asked for more information.
