Visitors to The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne are being treated to an art exhibition run by the Swale Art Forum.
The thought-provoking pieces of artwork are available to view upstairs in the outlet inside Bourne Creative.
The entire project of about 60 paintings and portraits were produced by ex-prisoners suffering from mental health issues.
A number of the works, including a painting of Bob Geldof were sold on the opening day, with all cash raised being donated to Demelza Hospice Care for Children charity at Bobbing.
Organiser Sally Wilson said: “The project’s benefits of the project are to show that art is a therapeutic support for mentally-ill prisoners and can be a force for changing their lives as they discover creative talents which support rehabilitation and a positive approach going forward”.
Many of the pieces on show have received awards from the Koestler Arts Trust which has been exhibiting, promoting and selling artworks by offenders, detainees and secure patients for 50 years.
