A family is nervously awaiting the verdict in a retrial of a man accused of murdering teacher Carl Davies.
Some of his relatives have flown thousands of miles to Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean to attending the latest hearings in the case.
The body of the former Royal Marine, who worked at Sittingbourne Community College and later at the Isle of Sheppey Academy before joining a security firm tackling piracy, was found on the south Indian Ocean island of Reunion in November 2011.
Vincent Madouré, was found guilty of the 33-year-old’s murder, in June 2017.
However, he was released in October under judicial supervision after his appeal for a retrial was successful.
The Davies family rallied against this decision.
They held protests, created petitions and appeared on numerous mainstream TV outlets.
A date for the retrial was set and Carl's relatives flew to Reunion on Sunday.
Speaking on the Justice for Carl Davies Facebook page, they thanked everyone for their support, saying they were "anxious, wary and worried for what will possibly be the final trial for justice for our Carl".
Carl's sister, Kerrie Stewart, said earlier today: "I'm just waiting for the call. I feel so sick."
She said the hearings on Reunion had continued late into the evening every night.
