Firefighters had to be called after a family dinner went wrong in Sittingbourne.
Crews were called to a property in Shortlands Road at around 6.05pm yesterday.
They confirmed the blaze happened when a tray of potatoes caught fire in the oven.
A fire service spokesman said: "Upon arrival the family was safely outside and smoke could be seen coming from the home.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put the fire out using a hose reel jet.
"Once they'd made the scene safe, they checked the smoke alarms were in good working order.
"There were no reported injuries."
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews remained at the scene for nearly 40 minutes.
