Family of four injured in car crash

A family of four were all injured when the car they were travelling in crashed into a wall near Sittingbourne.

It happened on Saturday at 2pm in Highsted near the town and is believed to have been caused when the driver was blinded by dazzling low sunlight.

A man in his 40s was at the wheel of the silver Citroen Berlingo and he had a suspected broken collar bone.

His wife was in the back and she received neck injuries so firefighters from the town had to remove the roof to release her.

Their daughter had whiplash injuries caused by her seatbelt and their son, who is in his early 20s, had a broken arm.
