Newington Christmas Craft and Food Fair was declared a stunning success.

It attracted more than 250 people to the village hall where 33 stalls were set up, selling a variety of festive items.

The seasonal shop was organised by Katie Reynolds-Dobbs from Playstool Road, who has vowed to lay on further social activities throughout the year.

She said: “It was an absolutely fantastic event. “It’s the first time I’ve held something like this and I plan to do a lot more things at the hall.

“There should be more in the village for people to do - different kinds of events. “The Christmas fair was really busy because it was well advertised.

“I delivered 1,500 leaflets in and around the village and the response was great.”
