The victim of a fatal crash on the M2 was a pharmacist from Rochester .
Dr Gurpreet Singh Khraund, 43, was killed in an early morning collision on the motorway between Sittingbourne and Faversham earlier this month.
Dr Khraund died at the scene after his blue Toyota Yaris collided with a black BMW between junctions 5 and 6.
An inquest into his death was opened at County Hall in Maidstone this morning following the tragic incident.
Assistant Coroner Catherine Wood listed the cause of death as traumatic brain injury, caused by a skull fracture, in relation to a road traffic collision.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, which happened on Monday, August 3 and saw the motorway closed towards London for hours while investigations took place.
A 26-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the crash, which occurred shortly before 1am.
He has now been released pending further investigation.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Officers would like to obtain dash cam footage from motorists who were travelling on the M2 and captured the cars travelling in the moments leading up to the collision.
"This includes footage that may have been recorded by people travelling on the opposite carriageway."
