Residents have been evacuated after a fire broke out at flats in Sittingbourne.

Firefighters were called to Whimbrel Close, Sittingbourne, at 12.24pm to reports of a blaze in a ground-floor kitchen.

Several apartments were evacuated as a precaution and occupants were allowed to return after 45 minutes.

No Injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but is not being treated as suspicious.
