Firefighters tackled a large grass fire in Sittingbourne this afternoon.
Crews were called to deal with around 100 square metres of grass and undergrowth ablaze near Gas Road.
Three fire engines were sent shortly before 3pm and firefighters used hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
They also had to use a portable water tank.
A large plume of smoke was seen in the skies above the town and residents were advised to close windows to keep the smoke from entering their homes as a precaution.
Crews made sure the area was safe and left shortly after 4.15pm.
