A football team have bared nearly all in the hope of raising hundreds of pounds for charity.
New Inn Football Club players and their gaffer stripped off for a cheeky calendar in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
Dan Reed, manager of the Division 2 team, which is based in Teynham and plays in the Havill Sheppey Sunday League, said: “We want to do as much as we can to raise awareness about Prostate Cancer that could, hopefully, change someone’s life.”
The photo shoot for the calender took place at the team’s ground at Frognal Lane in Teynham, after their first match of the season, which they won 5-1.
The photos were taken by Charlene Reed Photography.
Dan said: “Ten of us have taken part, a selection of players and myself.
“The shoot took around an hour to do as everyone was fully prepared.”
When asked how the players felt about getting their kits off, Dan said: “A few of them felt slightly nervous.
“The thing was, during the game, no one was walking their dogs. But as soon as we all came out to do the photo shoot, every woman and her dog started coming into the field – we all had a good giggle.”
The 37-year-old, who lives in Ashford, said the calendars should be in production at the end of the month.
They will be printed by Queenborough-based Handy Prints.
“There has been a lot of interest from people wanting them already,” Dan said.
“I’m extremely pleased with how it’s all gone so far and the response we have got from our posts about it on Facebook has been huge.”
However, when asked whether there had been any talks about the calendars becoming an annual thing, Dan said he was not sure.
“To be honest, we haven’t thought that far in advance,” he said. “Possibly, but I’m not sure at the moment.”
He hopes the 2020 calendars will be available to buy by mid-October.
Throughout them, certain months of the year will have a themed photograph including for Valentine’s Day, Easter and Halloween.
They will cost £10 each and people will be able to purchase them via the New Inn FC Facebook page or at the team’s local pub, the New Inn in Murston.
