Four fire engines tackle bedroom blaze at home in Wild Ash Croft, Murston, Sittingbourne

A bedroom blaze is being investigated after four fire engines were sent to a family home.

Crews were alerted at around 7.50pm last night (December 30) to reports of a house on fire in Wild Ash Croft in the Murston area of Sittingbourne.

Police and a Kent Fire and Rescue Service volunteer response team were sent to assist crews.

Paramedics also attended and treated a man for his injuries, which are understood not to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed that the cause of the blaze is not yet known, but is being investigated.

It is not being treated as suspicious at the moment.

After more than two hours, the incident was declared over at around 10.30pm.

The ambulance service has been contacted for more information.
