It may be four years since Matthew Green was last seen by his parents.

But they still cling to hope that one day they will find him.

Just two weeks before the anniversary of his disappearance, Jim and Pauline Green were walking the streets of Golders Green in London, after they were told he was possibly living rough in the area.

The information was passed on to them by Mr Green’s former work colleague Sharon Dawn Wheeler, after she spoke to her friend Amanda Clout, who is a medium/clairvoyant. But their trip was in vain.

Mrs Green, 60, said: “We were told Matt may have been with a white girl with dreadlocks and that she wears a woolly/beanie hat.

“When we mentioned her, people seemed to recognise her but couldn’t say where she “hung” out.

“Anyway, after seven hours we got the same result we always get.

“I know some will probably think why have we listened to something like this and all I can say is that if you were ever likely to be in our situation, which believe me when I say I hope you never are, you will listen and do anything that is out of the ‘norm’ to find your loved one.”

The then 26-year-old was last seen at the family home at 8pm on April 8, 2010.

He told his mum and dad he was going to stay with a friend in London for the weekend.

When he didn’t return home, his disappearance was reported to the police.

His bank account has not been touched, and his passport has not been used.

She added: “If anyone reading this thinks they may know where my Matt is, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please, please let me know.

“I don’t want another four years of feeling the way I do.”

Mr Green, 61, a retired firefighter who used to work at the town station, said: “It doesn’t get any easier. He could be settled down and have kids of his own, we just don’t know and that’s the hardest bit.

“If he wants a new life that’s fair enough, we just want to know he’s OK.”
