Friends of a teenager about to undergo a second round of cancer treatment are to shave their heads.
A group of Charlie Taylor's pals - #TeamTaylor - will meet at the Ridham Bar, Kemsley, tomorrow to chop off their hair.
Fundraising pages set up to support the 18-year-old have so far raised more than £2,500.
The keen footballer and boxer, who went to Westlands School, was 15 when he was diagnosed with hodgkin lymphoma, a rare form of cancer that develops in the immune system.
According to one of the fundraising pages, he was on a life support machine and also went through chemotherapy.
He later went into remission before the cancer reappeared.
It was found he had myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare type of blood cancer where the patient does not have enough healthy blood cells and the bone marrow seems to fail.
It means he has to go to hospital twice a week for blood tests as well as most weeks for blood and platelet transfusions.
Louise White, who set up one of the pages, said: "He is going to be admitted into hospital for one month, hopefully in the middle of October to start a very intense chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell transplant."
It is hoped the treatment will allow his bone marrow to start working again.
Failing that, he might have to have a bone marrow transplant.
The #TeamTaylor head shave will be at the bar in Ridham Avenue from about 7pm tomorrow.
