There is congestion to Sittingbourne railway station along the B2006.

One driver told KentOnline he was “very frustrated” after travelling less than one mile in half an hour.

He said it had taken half an hour to travel from Newington High Street to Keycol Hill, and he believed traffic was backing up from Key Street roundabout all the way to Newington High Street.

He added that such was the "crawl" that he had seen drivers perform a U-turn and head back towards Newington.

Cars are also queuing along Sheppey Way on approach to the roundabout.

Roadworks are currently taking place on the A249, with lane closures in place.

This led to “horrendous” delays yesterday for drivers.

Emergency services have been contacted for more information.
