Fun at pupils' performance

A production by a class of year 6 primary school leavers had an audience of parents and friends in stitches, said their proud teacher.

Bobbing Village School staged the musical fantasy adventure Sam and Sammy's Shammy Double Whammy.

It told of three children, Sam, Sammy and Milly, who were played by Adam, McKenzie and Chloe.

They get transported to a land called Garlandia and have to save the Garlandians from being turned into Shammys, lion-type creatures, by the evil General Gok, aka James.

Each of the 28 cast members had speaking parts and they started rehearsing three weeks ago. Parents helped by making costumes and painting scenery.

Class teacher Sam Saul, who organised the play with help from teaching assistant Anna Macken, said: "It went really well, it was really funny.

"It had the audience in stitches. The entire class was brilliant. It was the end of a great year."
