A decision to change a piece of agricultural land in Bobbing into a gipsy site has been postponed.
Swale Borough Council's planning committee were due to talk about the application at last night's meeting but members decided to postpone a decision until January next year so those who objected to the application can have their say.
The applicant wants land in Sheppey Way to be used as a residential caravan site for one gipsy family with two caravans - including one static caravan, plus a single storey pitched roof amenity block providing a toilet, shower room, kitchen and dining room.
More than 20 letters of objection were received by the council about the plan. Reasons against the proposal included the caravans not being in keeping with the surrounding area, difficulty in controlling the number of caravans on the site, an increase in traffic and that the development would devalue a nearby property.
Bobbing Parish Council also objected on the grounds that a previous application for a house was refused.
