A Greek restaurant is closing down due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Plough and Harrow Greek Taverna in Oad Street, Borden, announced the news of its permanent closure in a post to followers on its Facebook page.
It blames restrictions on the hospitality trade for making the business unviable in the age of social distancing.
They said: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we tonight announce that The Plough and Harrow Greek Taverna will not be re opening it’s doors.
"With the current restrictions it would be impossible to provide the service that our customers are accustomed to.
"We have explored every different option to allow the restaurant to carry on but unfortunately have been unable to come to a solution.
"Our time at The Plough and Harrow has been amazing, never did we expect our little Greek taverna to be so welcomed in the middle of the Kent countryside. Thank you to everyone that has supported us, we couldn’t have done it without you."
Customers responded with sadness at the news, with comments on the post praising the venue's food and atmosphere, and wishing the staff well fir the future.
The restaurant was rated 4.5 out of 5 on review site Trip Advisor.
A listing on the Rightmove property website shows the pub as for sale with a guide price of £700,000.
