The official opening of Milstead and Frinsted Primary School’s new classroom was a classy affair after Rose Leigh-Pemberton, – Lady Kingsdown – helped out at the cutting of the ribbon.
For some time, youngsters in the Reception class had been working in a makeshift area in the school hall because of lack of space.
With the help of Diocesan Architects, the school applied for funding to help them build a new, permanent home for their youngest pupils.
School head Katherine Baker said: “We are a very small school and we are very good at adapting to any situation thrown at us, but it was not ideal.
“Now they have their own dedicated space, the children are very happy.”
Mrs Baker also praised Sittingbourne builders Terry & Carr for carrying out construction work with the least possible amount of disruption.
