Do you think you’ve got what it takes to represent the town?
The selection for the next Miss Sittingbourne and her two princesses is to take place next month.
A panel of judges will choose the next carnival court to represent the area across the county during the summer.
Entrants must be 16 to 23 and live within the ME10 postcode or the surrounding area.
The selection takes place at the Woodcoombe Sports and Social Club in Church Road, Murston, from 7pm on Saturday, March 21.
On the night, entrants will be interviewed individually before speaking about themselves on stage to the audience of family and friends plus visiting courts from around the county.
There will be a disco and a small raffle to help raise funds.
The existing court of Miss Sittingbourne Georgia Lane and princesses Ashleigh Taylor and Hannah Bradford will also give their goodbye speeches before welcoming the new team.
Sittingbourne Carnival Association chairman Pam Griggs said: “The court had a very successful year in 2014, winning a total of 20 places from 15 carnival events attended.
The girls all agree that they have great fun during their year and make many new lasting friendships from around the Kent carnival circuit.
“We not only take part in carnival parades but other events around Kent to which we are invited.
"The girls are always chaperoned by members of the carnival committee.
“Anyone interested in being part of the carnival court for 2015 should have a certain amount of dedication as it is a year-long commitment and we usually have three or four dates to attend each month, mostly at weekends so they need to be available on Saturdays and Sundays.
"A list of our known events to date will be given to each entrant before the selection.
“We like to meet each entrant in the days before the selection to give them a brief insight into what a year in carnival involves.
"On receipt of their entry form we will contact them to arrange a meeting.”
