Delays on M2 near the Stockbury roundabout after lorry carrying timber nearly loses load

Drivers faced delays on the M2 this afternoon after a lorry began to lose its load.

It happened just before 11.30am on the coastbound entry slip of the road, at Junction 5 near the Stockbury roundabout.

The junction was closed and the HGV, which was carrying timber, was moved to the hard shoulder.

A crane had secured the load by 3pm.

A National Highways spokesperson said at the time: “Further work needs to take place to safely reposition the timber, and we expect the entry slip road to be closed until late afternoon.

“There are no reports of any injuries.”
