It may not be the most attractive of invitations.

But as the coalition government weighs up what steps are needed to cut the nation’s spiraling financial deficit, Chancellor George Osborne says he wants to hear our ideas on how to curb public spending and tackle the country’s debts.

But exactly where should the axe fall in Kent?

We’ve already heard how Kent County Council is facing having to trim its budget by up to £23m this year alone. Other councils are facing equally awkward decisions.

So, when it comes to cuts, how should the money be saved? Do you want to see less spent on Kent’s roads? Or should schools tighten their belts?

What about the amount Kent hospitals spend? Is it right that their budgets are being ring-fenced? Would you support paying more for some services, like libraries or sports centres?

Maybe you think public sector workers should take a pay cut, as they are being asked to in other European countries.

What quangos should be cut? Should there be a cull of top officers?

Perhaps you think that our elected councillors should set an example and volunteer to receive less in their allowances.
