Leaflets have been sent to more than 900 households and businesses informing them of plans to build 300 homes in Newington.
Gladman Developments is seeking views on the proposal for land at Pond Farm in London Road.
It says that 30% of them would provide affordable housing for local people. Public open space with recreational facilities is also included.
Any comments and suggestions put forward during the public consultation will be taken into account when formulating the final planning application.
Last week this paper revealed the same firm is looking to build 580 houses at the other end of the A2 on land off Swanstree Avenue, Sittingbourne.
The news came two months after a public consultation ended on a proposal to build 600 houses at Stones Farm, near Bapchild, which is less than a mile away.
"If they keep putting up all these new houses, Kent might as well be called Concrete City” - Stacey Moon.
It provoked outrage among people living in the area, who raised concerns about the impact on traffic, schools and amenities.
The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) said it would try to block the Swanstree proposal.
Postings on Facebook suggest the latest development isn’t welcome either, with one branding it “pure greed” on the part of Swale council and developers.
Stacey Moon said: “Kent, The Garden of England, Really? If they keep putting up all these new houses, Kent might as well be called Concrete City.”
Chris Hanson wrote: “Not particularly opposed to houses being built, I’m more opposed to the lack of anything else being built.
“There has to be a line drawn somewhere, they can’t just keep building houses and nothing else: schools, doctors, hospitals, shops, decent road system etc.”
