A restaurant is introducing igloo pods so guests can enjoy socially distanced winter dining in style.
The four new additions will be in the festive courtyard at Oad Street Food and Crafts in Borden, near Sittingbourne , next Wednesday.
The pods, which have sofas, a personal music system and a drinks trolley, have already proved popular, with the eatery already receiving hundreds of bookings.
A spokesman said: “We are overwhelmed with the amount of booking enquiries we have had over the past few days.
“We are so excited people are loving the idea of our igloos and we cannot wait for the festive season to start.
“However, due to the hundreds of enquiries we have, this is taking longer for us to get through.”
The igloos will be at the eatery from October until March and are only allowed a maximum of six people, due to the Government’s social distancing guidelines.
Customers will be able to choose from a three-hour evening slot or a two-and-a-half hour daytime slot, with the options of brunch or a range of grazing boards, including vegan and gluten free platters.
Diners will also receive a festive cocktail on arrival and unlimited tea and coffee.
The spokesman added: “We have worked hard to ensure our exclusive igloos are the safest possible way to enjoy a celebration with your party.
“Pre-booking your food and using contactless payment an ordering for drinks makes your time with us private and even more Covid safe.”
The igloos cost £35 per person for a group of six, £40 each in a group of five and £45 for each diner in a four-person pod. Bookings require a £10 deposit for each member of the party.
The restaurant, which is rated four out f five stars on review site TripAdvisor, is connected to a gift shop featuring crafts made by local artists.
