Six Fulston Manor staff entertained pupils by eating delicacies such as black scorpions, bamboo worms, and premium bugs which look like massive dried beetles.
Head teacher Alan Brookes joined in, but it was history teacher Alistair McCutcheon who got the loudest cheer for finishing the huge beetle without having to use the bin discreetly hidden under the table.
Mr Brookes said: “This is the second year I have been talked into taking part in this activity. There is always an amazing buzz around the school during our Charity Week and I’m proud of the effort our students show towards fundraising.”
They raised £100 with the bug-eating session in the sports hall at the site in Brenchley Road, Sittingbourne.
The money will go to Great Ormond Street, the British Heart Foundation and National Guide Dogs for the Blind.
