A nursery has been closed by Ofsted inspectors after it was rated inadequate.
The education watchdog visited Evolution Kids Club and Nursery, which is in the grounds of Grove Park Primary School in Hilton Drive, Sittingbourne.
In the Ofsted's report, published last Friday, concerns were raised about the safeguarding of children.
Managers were not checking to see if staff working with children had current criminal convictions.
Children struggled to settle and were not aware of who to go to for help.
It followed concerns raised in April and June that the service was not meeting some of its key requirements.
The report praised the service for building sensory skills and promoting understanding about why being different is good.
"We have suspended the registration of this service..." - Ofsted spokesman
This week, in a shock move, Ofsted took the decision to shut the nursery which is run independently of Grove Park Primary School.
An Ofsted spokesman said: "We can confirm that we have suspended the registration of this service because of concerns about the quality of the provision.
"This means that it is closed temporarily and will not open again until we are satisfied that the provider is meeting the registration requirements."
Grove Park Primary School sent a letter home to parents yesterday saying it would provide "emergency after school arrangements" but only for next week.
Head teacher Nicci Hague said: "This care will be run by staff from school and a member of the senior leadership team will be on site.
"This care will start immediately after school and finish at 5.30pm at a cost of £7 per child."
Evolution Kids Club and Nursery has so far refused to comment.
