Former Sittingbourne favourite Andy Drury returns to Bourne Park on Saturday when the club hosts a charity day to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Drury, who still lives in the town, joined Championship side Ipswich last season from Luton.
The charity event starts at noon and includes a match between a Brickies XI and a team from Marks & Spencer Kent, with boss Richard Brady and assistant Jamie Coyle still working on assembling their squad for the new season.
Bourne are looking for a new goalkeeper after Matt Reed left to join Met Police, but Coyle is still encouraged by the way things are progressing and is being helped by Welling boss Jamie Day.
The pair played together at Dartford before Day took him to Park View Road.
Coyle said: "Jamie invited me to a game at Cray Valley on Wednesday, to run an eye over three of their Academy youngsters who he could put our way. We have still got the majority of the boys we had last season, with more than 20 players training with us."
Bourne’s planned friendly at Erith & Dartford Town, now managed by former Brickies boss Gary Abbott, was called off on Thursday.
Coyle was unable to raise a side, so he arranged a game against university side The Mavericks instead.
