Olympic legend Jayne Torvill helped celebrate the Swale Youth Development Fund's 25th anniversary.
Trustees and other people associated with the fund enjoyed a lunch at Hempstead House, London Road, Bapchild.
It was held to mark the end of the charity's anniversary celebrations, which began last November.
Set up in 1985 by former Swale mayor Richard Moreton, the fund gives financial backing to talented young people up to the age of 20. Anyone with a talent, such as in sport, music or drama, can apply. The Mayor and Mayoress of Swale, Cllrs Ben Stokes and Sylvia Bennett, joined co-founder and life president Rose Moreton at the event.
Ice-skating Olympic gold medallist Torvill, who has been a patron since 2006, was presented with an honorary badge.
Guests also listened to recipient Deanna Cooper, who told them how the fund will help her.
The 18-year-old cricket prodigy was the first person to receive the Richard Moreton Anniversary Fund, an honorary bursary worth £1,500.
Deanna, who has ambitions to play for the England women's cricket team, said: "It was amazing. I got to meet Jayne Torvill and she gave me some good advice. I'm really thankful for the award."
Trustee Carole Nealey said: "It was an extremely pleasant occasion. It was well supported by the local community and the business sector, who have been supporting the funding through the anniversary year."
