Jim Ward says he is "delighted " to be back in management at Sittingbourne and is ready to get down to work immediately.
The 60-year-old Broadstairs based Scot, who owns a fish and chip shop on Margate seafront, will be re-united with his brother Danny at Bourne Park and said: "There is life in the old dog yet. I always said when I left Ramsgate I wanted to stay in football.
"Danny wanted to give it another go, and it’s great to be back working together. Sittingbourne are one of the oldest established clubs in Kent, and I am delighted to get the job."
Ward’s return comes exactly a month after leaving Rams, 10 days after being "moved upstairs" following a management reshuffle. He would have become director of football, but decided the role wasn’t for him.
The pair met chairman Andy Spice on Monday night and agreed to take the job the following day.
Ward (pictured) added: " I have known Andy and the rest of the committee there for years, and I have always seen it as a difficult place to go."
"We are hoping to arrange a meeting with the players on Thursday. There is a lot of work to be done, pre-season training schedules and friendlies to sort out, but time is short."
Mr Spice said: "It is a great appointment, and I am really pleased.
"He won’t have a lot of money to work with, because the budget is always tight at Sittingbourne, but Jim knows what he is going to work with and is happy to do it."
