It is hoped a jobs fair will provide opportunities for unemployed people in Swale.
It will be held at Wyvern Hall, Central Avenue, Sittingbourne, from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday, September 25.
Swale Heating and JM Recruitment have already confirmed their support as sponsors and will also be participating as exhibitors along with nearly 40 other companies offering more than 200-plus jobs.
Borough MPs Gordon Henderson and Hugh Robertson are the hosts of the fair, which is running in conjunction with Kent County Council, Swale council and Job Centre Plus.
School leavers and those looking for a job, career change or apprenticeship opportunities are also invited.
There will also be an opportunity for anyone looking to start up their own company to talk with a team of experts within the business and financial sectors at a start-up clinic.
It is the second year the fair has been held in Sittingbourne.
Mr Henderson said: “Although unemployment continues to fall in our area there are still far too many people for whom there is no job and as MP it is part of my role to do what I can to help those people.
“I appreciate that the Swale Jobs Fair will not provide jobs for everybody who is unemployed, however, as I said last year, if the day helps just one person to get into work then it will have been a worthwhile exercise.
“It is also important that young people who are in education have an opportunity to see what careers are available to them when they eventually leave school.
“Hopefully the fair will help them plan better the transition from education into work.”
Mr Robertson said: “I am delighted to support Swale Jobs Fair which is a fantastic opportunity to generate local jobs for local people.
"It brings many of our local employers together with jobseekers as well as students entering the jobs market.”
