Judges were hardly spoilt for choice at an audition in Sittingbourne to find the country’s newest music superstar.
There have already been two try-outs held in the town as part of the nationwide Mecca Bingo Star Search competition but only one person from the area has gone through.
Martyn Hall, from Iwade, stormed into the final with his rendition of Robbie Williams’ Angels earlier this month.
The grand finale this summer, where all of the successful singers from the regional heats will compete, will be held in Blackpool and hosted by 2009/10 X-Factor finalist Stacey Soloman.
The overall winner of the competition will then jet off with a guest to Los Angeles armed with £2,000 spending money for a luxurious stay at a top Beverley Hills hotel.
Last Thursday, the turnout at the Sittingbourne venue in the High Street was not quite as good as expected with only one wannabe taking to the stage but Anne Maynard delighted the audience with her impressive vocal range in an unforgettable audition.
Bingo hall manager, Kirsty Sparks said: “It was great to see such hidden talent from our customers in Sittingbourne.
“We wish them all the luck in the competition and hope they do us proud if they reach the finals.”
