Motorists are being warned about the latest round of closures affecting a busy junction.
Highways England has released details of upcoming work on the A249 and the Stockbury flyover in Sittingbourne, which starts this Friday.
The closures will affect traffic heading to and from Sittingbourne as well as Maidstone and Sheppey.
Part of the new Stockbury flyover will be shut this weekend from 8pm on Friday to 5am Monday, November 18 while contractors carry out maintenance work.
The northbound lanes (towards Sittingbourne) will be closed but traffic will still be able to head towards Sheppey. Drivers will be diverted off the A249, on to the Stockbury roundabout, where they can then re-join the A249 northbound.
The A249 southbound (towards Maidstone) will be closed between the Bobbing and Stockbury roundabouts from 8pm Sunday, November 17, to 5am Monday, November 18.
When the road reopens on Monday morning, the lane closure on the A249 southbound, which has been causing delays, will be removed.
A Highways England spokesperson said: “During the closure, a signed diversion will be in place via the Bobbing roundabout, Sheppey Way, A2, Hoath Way, M2 and A249. Non-motorway traffic can use Bobbing roundabout, Sheppey Way, A2, A229 and A249.”
South Green Lane will also be shut overnight from 8pm Monday, November 18, to 5am Tuesday, November, 19. This is for surfacing works.
During the closure, access for residents on the South Green Link will be permitted via Oad Street. Access for properties on South Green Lane itself will need to use Oad Street and Pett Lane to reach South Green Lane.
The £92m A249 Stockbury flyover opened in July.
Work by National Highways to transform the junction started in 2021.
