A swingball bat, pieces of glass, drink cans and two empty medicine bottles were among the items found during a litter pick in Kemsley

Between them, six adults and four children managed to fill 15 black sacks with rubbish as they walked around the area.

Their route took them along Ridham Avenue and back up Coldharbour Lane taking in East Green and West Green.

Afterwards, everyone went back to AmicusHorizon New House in Coldharbour Lane for tea and biscuits.

Samantha Bryant, who lives in Reams Way, organised the clean-up in conjunction with the charity Litter Angels to help make the area a nicer place for people to live.

A litter pick had been arranged to take place the day before but bad weather led to it being cancelled.
