A man recovering from spinal surgery has been taken to hospital after being involved in an accident on the M2 today.
Fire crews were called to the incident between junctions 5 for Sittingbourne and 6 for Faversham at 11.44am.
When they arrived they discovered two cars had been involved in a "low speed" crash on the coastbound carriageway.
The injured man, who was out of the car and complaining of neck and back pain, was put in a medical collar and taken away by ambulance.
The incident has contributed to congestion on the motorway with delays of up to 10 minutes expected to ease this afternoon.
