A man has been arrested after a crash with a police car on the M2.

The accident happened on the London bound carriageway between junction 6 for Faversham and junction 5 for Sittingbourne at around 5.45am

Officers patrolling the stretch saw a car allegedly travelling in a dangerous manner and indicated them to stop with their blue lights.

He failed to do so and there was a crash between the cars before they came to a stop on the hard shoulder.

No injuries were reported and the driver was arrested on suspicion of traffic offences.

He remains in custody.

The carriageway was closed while the suspect's car was removed.
