An M2 slip road will be closed again as work continues on the multi-million-pound Stockbury flyover project.
The M2 junction 5 London-bound entry slip road, near Sittingbourne, will shut this week while temporary safety barriers are installed.
The closure is taking place from 8pm tomorrow (Wednesday, August 23) until 5am on Thursday, August 24.
A National Highways spokesman said: “We are closing the slip road to install temporary safety barriers that will allow us to start building the next section of the new entry slip to the M2 from the A249.”
Motorists will have to follow a diversion via the A249, M20, A229 to M2 junction 3.
Last week 18 concrete bridge beams that weighed more than eight fully grown African elephants were craned into place as part of the new flyover.
They will support the road deck on the Maidstone side of the new flyover at the Stockbury roundabout,
On Wednesday, August 16, and Thursday, August 17, a 500-tonne mega crane was used to lift into place the two edge beams weighing 56-tonnes each and 16 beams in the middle weighing 20 tonnes each.
