There were major delays on the M2 after a crash involving three cars earlier this afternoon.

The vehicles collided on the London-bound stretch between Sittingbourne and the Medway services at 3.15pm.

Police closed the road to allow emergency crews to help the victims, causing a lengthy backlog of traffic.

The lanes were re-opened at about 4.10pm, but it was almost 7pm before traffic began to ease.

The people involved are thought to have suffered minor injuries.
