A man has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving and possessing suspected class A drugs following a police chase.

The man failed to stop for officers when requested while driving on the A2 in Faversham at around 11.45pm last night.

Following a short pursuit the car was located in Wadham Place, Sittingbourne.

A 54-year-old man from Gillingham was arrested on suspicion of careless driving, failing to stop and possession of suspected class A drugs.

Inquiries are ongoing and the man remains in police custody.
