Officers seized an air gun and a crossbow from a house in The Street in Lynsted at 11am today after a firearms warrant was issued.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a public place but was released hours later with a caution for the offence.

He voluntarily handed over the air rifle to Kent Police.

The warrant was issued following an incident in Claxfield Road, Lynsted, last Saturday (May 22) in which a target in a field was shot at with an air rifle without the farmer's permission.
