A Teynham man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of a 21-year-old in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Jurijs Popovs, 47, of Henley Place, Teynham appeared before Maidstone magistrates, and has been remanded to Maidstone Crown Court tomorrow. Two other men who were being held in custody have been released without charge. It comes after Dmitrijs Titovs was found lying injured on the ground outside a block of flats in Henley Place, London Road, Teynham at around 2am on Tuesday with stab wounds.
Police had been called to the same address half an hour earlier after reports of an argument - only to resolve the issue and leave.
Mr Titovs was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
