A man is due to appear in court after a woman needed to go to hospital after a crash.

Police were called to Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, at about 9.15pm on Tuesday, January 7, to reports of a crash involving a white van and a red car.

Charlie Austin, of School Lane, Iwade, was arrested and released under investigation.

The 20-year-old was charged on April 11 with possession of an offensive weapon in public, driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance and failing to provide a breath specimen.

He is due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Friday, May 15.
