And in the early hours of Sunday in Milton Road, Sittingbourne, at about 2.30am, an 18-year-old was approached by two men who tried to take his bag.
They are said to have stamped on his head before fleeing empty handed.
Detectives have made two arrests in connection with the Bell Road robbery.
Lawrence Heathfield, who is 24, of Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne, was charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A second man, aged 27, was arrested and has been released while police continue with their investigation.
