A 51-year-old woman who failed to return to her home in Sittingbourne after being last seen in the town at around 12.20pm yesterday has been found safe.

Police say she was spotted by a member of the public at around 1pm today in the nearby Bapchild area.

A police spokesman said: "This was as a direct result of a media appeal. We would like to thank the media and the public for their help in locating the woman."

The woman was thought to have been driving a blue Peugeot Ski when she went missing.
