A man has been killed on the M2 on Sunday after being struck by a lorry.

The road was closed from junctions 5 to 6, London-bound, Faversham to Sittingbourne.

Police closed the road at around 2.45pm.

A foreign lorry was involved in the crash which left traffic queuing at least three miles back.

Four police cars and an ambulance were on the scene.

Kent Police spokesman Jo Robertson, said: “Traffic were diverted away from the area and drivers asked to take an alternative route if possible as there are long delays in the area."

The road was re-opened at 4.15pm.
