Delays on the M2 following multi-vehicle accident

There are delays on the M2 due to a multi-vehicle accident.

The motorway is partially blocked coastbound from junction 5, for Sittingbourne and junction 6, for Faversham.

The accident happened at about 11.30am and is affecting motorists travelling coastbound and it is understood some lanes are partially blocked.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Highways officers are at the scene dealing with the incident."

It is believed four cars were involved in the crash.

One woman reported a minor injury and was checked by ambulance staff as a precaution.

All vehicles have now left the scene apart from one awaiting recovery on the hard shoulder.

Highways officers are still on the scene.
