The officer leading the Murston murder investigation says there are no plans to carry out a reconstruction.
Det Insp Lee Whitehead said the investigation into the death of Adrian Milner is ‘progressing well’.
A team of 20 officers are working exclusively on the case and are carrying out meticulous checks on every piece of information they have received.
The father of two, known as Ada, was punched in the face as he walked home along Church Road, Murston, at about 7.53pm on Tuesday, December 28.
The blow caused him to fall and hit his head.
A murder investigation was launched when the lorry driver died from his injuries at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in central London on Sunday, January 9.
Det Insp Whitehead, of the Kent and Essex serious crime directorate’s major crime unit, said: "This is a shocking crime to happen on your doorstep.
"Local people have been keen to help us catch the offender, and they have provided us with some extremely interesting and positive lines of inquiry that we are now investigating.
"We continue to analyse CCTV footage of the evening, not just in Church Road but further afield."
Despite officers speaking to more than 400 people when they returned to the scene exactly two weeks after the attack, DI Whitehead says he is still keen to hear from anyone with more information.
He said: "Mr Milner and his friend Michael Coomber had been for a drink in the New Inn that evening and were walking home along Church Road when a third man punched Mr Milner in the face.
"At this stage we still believe it to be a completely unprovoked attack."
The attacker is white, around 30, of stocky build, with brown wavy shoulder-length hair.
He was wearing a dark jacket, carrying a white shopping bag and may have been wearing a hat.
Anyone with information should contact the police on 01622 654852 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Two men bailed in connection with the incident are due back at Sittingbourne police station tomorrow (Friday, January 28).
