A murder investigation has been launched after a man who was assaulted in Murston, died over the weekend.
Adrian Milner, a lorry driver from Murston who was known to his friends as Ada, passed away in a London Hospital yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
The 48-year-old father of two was attacked in Church Road, on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. He was walking with his friend near the Co-op just before 7.53pm when it’s believed there was a brief altercation between a third man, who punched Mr Milner in the face. This blow caused him to fall to the floor and hit his head, leaving him with a serious head injury.
The attacker is described as white, around 30-years-old, of stocky build, with brown wavy shoulder length hair. He was wearing a dark jacket, carrying a white shopping bag and may have been wearing some form of hat.
Kent Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward as soon as possible. Officers are also planning to speak to residents in the area tomorrow (Tuesday) evening at the time the attack took place exactly two weeks ago.
Detective Inspector Lee Whitehead said: "People in Murston have shown real concern for what happened and as a result many have come forward with really useful information following earlier appeals.
"Thanks to their help we are gaining a much clearer picture of what happened that evening, but we are still missing information that will give us the full picture.
"By being at the scene exactly a fortnight later we will hopefully be able to talk to people who were out and about at that time in the evening two weeks ago and may have seen either the assault or events leading up to it."
Anyone who was in the area on the evening of Tuesday, December 28, and may have information should contact Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate on 01622 654852 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
