A man stabbed to death in Sittingbourne has been named as Steven Bygrave.
The 36-year-old died after suffering two knife wounds to the chest at a house in Oak Roadlast Saturday.
Mr Bygrave was found at the property at around 10.30am and died despite efforts from paramedics who performed an open heart massage on him.
In a statement released today, his family said: “Steven was the father of two lovely sons, Ben and Zach. He was also uncle to Branden, who he treated like his own son.
“Steven had two sisters, Claire and Leanne, and four brothers, Richard, Christopher, Shaun and Brad.
"He will be missed by all his family, particularly his father Richard and his mother Carol. He had many friends and was liked by everyone who knew him.
“Since Steven died many people have approached us and said how kind-hearted he was and how he would help anyone.
"Steven did have a few rough periods in his life, as people do, but over the last year he had improved his lifestyle and many people had commented on how well he was looking.
“He was tragically taken from us on June 6. He had done absolutely nothing to deserve this and we are all are heartbroken.
“We all loved Steven and always will. He will be remembered by us all and remain in our hearts forever.”
Robert George Bygrave, 31, of Harold Road, Sittingbourne, has been charged with murder and is currently in custody ahead of an appearance at Maidstone Crown Court.
