Hundreds of music-lovers have been left in the lurch after the plug was pulled on a festival at the last minute.
The second Woodfest was to be held at Woodcoombe Sports and Social Club in Murston this Saturday.
But it has been axed because of "licensing issues."
Organiser Paul Gambell said: "I'm devastated that it's been cancelled because a year of my hard work has gone down the pan."
The club said: "Due to an issue with the licence we have to cancel Woodfest this Saturday.
"We have been down every possible avenue to make it happen but unfortunately have been unsuccessful.
"At present, we are trying to arrange another date as we have been assured by the council that this will be possible.
"Could all customers with tickets, if you wish to, please retain, until we have further information.
"We understand your disappointment but are doing everything to rectify the situation. We would be grateful for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
At least 700 tickets had been sold to see five bands including Toot ‘n’ Skamen. Marylebone Jelly, Avanzi and Cakehole at the club in Church Road, Murston.
Today Woodcoombe Sports and Social Club's bar manager Ellie Hanslow posted on Facebook: "The cancellation of Woodfest 2018 was due to my misunderstanding the wording of the licence that would have been issued by Swale Borough Council.
"They informed me on Monday, rightfully so, that Woodfest could not go ahead as it would be breaking the law.
"It was a genuine mistake on my part and which Paul Gambell was not involved in.
"My apologies to members/customers/supporters of the event.
"Unfortunately, it would have been a great day for both Woodcoombe and Paul.
"I know that he will be successful when organising future events."
Mr Gambell confirmed that next year's Woodfest would be on Saturday, July 27.
He added: "I just want to thank the people and bands who have supported me."
Marylebone Jelly, who were due to play, will now be performing at the Red Lion, Sittingbourne, on Saturday from 9pm.
