A dying woman says she has been blown away by the generosity of family and friends who are helping make her dreams come true.
Zoe Smith, 35, was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2009, and after undergoing treatment she was given the all-clear early last year.
However, six weeks ago the mum-of-one was told the heartbreaking news that her cancer had returned and spread to her lungs, lymph nodes and ovaries and this time it was terminal.
With time against her, Zoe announced there were three things she wanted to do before she dies: marry her partner of 11 years Adrian Bullen, known as Adie; have their seven-year-old daughter Frankie christened and to go on a family holiday to Disneyland Paris.
Determined to make Zoe's wishes come true family and friends have chipped in with the cost of the wedding, which takes place at the King Charles Hotel, in Brompton Road, Gillingham, on Friday, August 26.
Zoe, of Detling Close, Twydall, said: "We always had it in the back of our minds [to get married]. This gave us the kick up the bottom.
"I do feel grateful and so appreciative and at the same time quite humble. We're blown away with what everyone is doing for us."
Friends Tara Crossland and Lisa Johnson, both from Newington, and Kelly Edwards, from Faversham, have arranged a sponsored walk around Sittingbourne, which sets off from Sittingbourne railway station at 9am, on Saturday, April 16.
After the walk, Lisa's dad Tony Smith will have his hair shaved off.
Zoe, who works as a kitchen assistant at St Margaret's Infant and Junior School, in Orchard Street, Rainham, said: "Frankie has always wanted to go to Disneyland and I said it would be lovely to take her there.
"To see her face and the pictures and the memories she will have, that will be the icing on the cake."
