Mystery surrounds the circumstances of an accident in Sittingbourne at 8am on Saturday, October 1.

The Sussex Air Ambulance was called in after a man suffered head, pelvis, limb and abdominal injuries when he was thrown from a car.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was flown to King's College Hospital in London in 48 minutes.

However, because the helicopter crew were unfamiliar with the area, they were unable to give an exact location. And Sittingbourne police and fire say they have no record of the incident.
